Take State Route 20 to Marblemount. Where the highway bends in town, turn off the highway onto the Cascade River Road, soon crossing a bridge over the Skagit River. The Cascade Pass Trail is considered the most popular hike in the North Cascades National Park and the reason for that is readily apparent the moment you arrive at the trailhead. Tucked at the head of the North Fork Cascade River, the parking area is a viewpoint in and over itself, with glacier-coated Johannesburg Mountain looming mightily above. The mountains pointed subpeaks Cascade Peak and The Triplets add further bulk to the imposing cliffs above.
