Follow this loop-route up the shoulders of Mt. Muller to find wildflower meadows and long views along with plenty of opportunity to extend your day.

From Port Angeles, follow Highway 101 west for 32 miles past milepost 217 to Forest Service Road 3017. Keep an eye out for signs pointing right toward the Olympic Discovery Trail Trailhead and another indicating “FS Rd 2918.” Turn at the next right after this sign.

From Forks, follow Highway 101 east for 25 miles to Forest Service Road 3071. Just after milepost 2016 pass a sign stating Mount Muller–Littleton Loop Trailhead next left, followed by a sign for “FS Rd 2918.” Turn at the next left after this sign.

Follow the graveled FS 3071 0.3 miles to the Mount Muller Trailhead and Littleton Horse Camp. Privy available.

This shortened version of this classic loop hike ascends the steep forested shoulders of Snider Ridge to reach wildflower-filled meadows along the ridgeline. While the wooded summit of Mount Muller skimps on views, trailside vistas showcase the surrounding landscape. On clear days find the greens of the Sol Duc Valley below with Mount Olympus and Mount Baker rising above and the waters of Lake Crescent and the Strait of Juan de Fuca sparkling in the distance.
